the country

I'm drawn to wide open vistas and horizons, sky and trees. I live in Colorful Colorado so there are plenty of mountains, rocks, trails, trees and colors. I haven't spent a lot of time in my life visiting oceans and water, so when I get a chance to visit these places, capturing an insane amount of otherwise mundane pictures of the surf and sunsets is how I enjoy that time.

I enjoy long road trips, and as my wife and two young boys know, a reasonable car ride can usually take much longer because of my need to stop and take pictures of things that I see. I can't go through life thinking I'll get the shot the "next time", because I can't know that will ever happen. It follows the thinking of 'living for the moment' and 'stopping to smell the roses'... except for me, it's stopping to shoot the pictures.
